Cornerstone Sustainability Data Initiative

The Sustainable Solutions Lab is collaborating with Watershed and ERG to maintain and update high-quality, open-access sustainability data for organizations everywhere. As a first step, we're bringing the two most widely used scope 3 emissions models under one roof: USEEIO and Open CEDA, ensuring continuity and reliability for institutional sustainability measurement. Wes Ingwersen, a Research Engineer at Stanford, directs the initiative.

Comprehensive Accounting of Land-Use Emissions (CALUE)

The Comprehensive Accounting of Land-Use Emissions (CALUE) database includes historical estimates of country-, process-, GHG- and product-specific land-use emissions (from both agricultural and land-use change emissions) from 1961 to 2017. Data and visualizations are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.

Carbon Monitor

Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from the use of fossil fuels and the production of cement are the main driving force of climate change. Carbon Monitor is an international initiative providing for the first time regularly updated, science-based estimates of daily CO2 emissions. The data reveal the drop and re-growth of emissions during the COVID-19 pandemics.

Sustainable Seaweed Solutions (S3) + (Carbon)Plan

As part of a project funded by the ClimateWorks Foundation, the Sustainable Solutions Lab worked with (Carbon)Plan to build an interactive and spatially-explicit model of the potential climate benefits of seaweed farming worldwide.
